Symposium “Third Generation Advanced High Strength Steels by Quenching and Partitioning”, MSE 2016 Congress

The OptiQPAP consortium members are organizing a Symposium ‘Third Generation Advanced High Strength Steels by Quenching and Partitioning’ in frame of the MSE 2016 Congress which will be held on September 27-29, 2016 in Darmstadt, Germany. This Symposium aims to disseminate the recent developments in the application and modelling of quenching and partitioning heat treatment to production of third generation advanced high strength steels (AHSS). Following topics will be considered and discussed at the Symposium:
1. Production of quenched and partitioned steels. Alloying strategy, hot rolling, cold rolling, industrial implementation of quenching and partitioning process;
2. Microstructure and texture characterization;
3. Mechanical properties, formability and energy absorption, processing – microstructure – properties relationship;
4. Fatigue and fracture of Q&P steels.
The symposium is oriented to researchers from universities and industrial research centers and to steel producers directly involved in the production and product development. The lectures will be given by researchers from the large steel manufacturing companies, such as Tata Steel, Arcelor Mittal, ThyssenKrupp, POSCO, and researchers from leading universities, such as the Colorado School of Mines, TU Delft, University of Gent, Schanghai Jiao Tong University, etc.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Darmstadt !

Kick-off meeting

The kick-off meeting for the OptiQPAP project will take place next 5th of July 2016 at IMDEA Materials Institute headquarters. The main goal of the kick-off meeting will be to align partners understandings of project objectives, work procedures and timelines, roles and responsibilities. A detailed schedule for next 6 months will also be agreed.

The OptiQPAP project has received funding from the European Union’s Research Fund for Coal and Steel under grant agreement nº 709755
